Psycians are human-like beings, shorter in stature and more graceful, with incredible telepathic and psionic powers. They are regarded as the wisest of all races and display a calm, distant demeanor that masks deep emotion.
Even the young possess uncanny insight due to their natural psychic abilities, which allow them to probe the minds of others at close range.
The Psycians of today descend from the sole survivors of the destruction of their homeland, the Isle of Psycia, by the ancient Frontacians. It has taken nearly a thousand years to rebuild what was lost, and the location of their new home remains a guarded secret.
Long ago, Psycians served as the telepathic network of the Frontacian Empire, relaying messages across its far-reaching city-states. The Frontacians later developed their own magickal telepathy, and Psycians plotted a covert rebellion by spreading misinformation through the empire.
In response, Frontacian mages collapsed the bridge connecting Psycia to the empire, annihilating the island and every other magickal bridge. Assassins hunted the survivors, but a few Psycians escaped to rebuild in secret.
To this day, Psycians bear unbridled hatred for the Frontacians and vow to restore their lost isle.

Psycians are calm, logical, patient, and even tempered. They are loyal and trustworthy, preferring peaceful and harmonious lives.
Despite their serene appearance, Psycians are deeply emotional. They avoid aggression when possible, seeking defensive and peaceful resolutions.
However, they carry profound hatred and mistrust toward Frontacians for the destruction of Psycia.
Psycians make excellent employees and often rise to positions of power due to their reliability and insight.
On rare occasions, overexposure to uncontrolled minds causes a fit of madness. When this happens, their mental powers shatter and the mind is overwhelmed, leading to intense pain and possible death. This is avoided by taking a regular dose of the “madness cure.”
Near Frontacians, Psycians lose their usual restraint and display open loathing. Some merchants even refuse service to Frontacians.

Speed of maturation: Much slower than Humans. At 50 years old, a Psycian is still an adolescent.
Advantages: Natural telepathy and psionic abilities, immense mental power.
Hindrances: Physically weak with low constitution. They can carry very little and find weapons hardly worth using. They must constantly dampen their minds with a special drug or face madness.
Abilities: Psionic powers (fully developed only in Psycian Psions).
