Advancement

Progression in Dragon's Gate Reborn is skill‑driven. Instead of chasing experience levels, you improve by training and using the skills that match your class and playstyle.

This keeps role‑play first. A Heart Cleric can rise by healing and serving the temple without being forced to grind combat. You can fight if you want to, but growth does not depend on it.

Training Your Skills

Skills gain levels through use. When a skill is ready to advance, your uses remaining will drop to 0, the SKILL list shows a small "*", and you will receive a notice.

Training Academy - Instructor Theron

New adventurers can find Instructor Theron in the Arcane Classroom at the Training Academy. He offers skill training for characters developing their abilities.

Learning New Skills:

  • Use the learn or learn list command to view available skills
  • Select a skill slot number to learn that skill
  • Skills are available based on your class and race
  • Currently no cost for learning new skills

Training Existing Skills:

  • Use the train command to see your trainable skills with their current levels and uses
  • Use train list to see only skills you've already learned
  • Use train <slot> to advance a skill when its uses reach 0
  • Skills can be trained up to level 10 at the Training Academy
  • Currently no cost for training (uses = 0 requirement only)

Class Restrictions:

  • Turning and Channeling are Cleric-only skills
  • Channeling is not available to Hand Clerics
  • Martial Arts is exclusive to Hand Clerics
  • Thief-specific skills are restricted to the Thief class
  • Arachnians cannot learn Spellcasting

Advanced Training

At higher tiers (level 36+), you must complete a class quest to access your advanced trainer and the exclusive guild store with rare class items.

New skill training takes two hours of game time (about one hour real time) and your character is offline during that window. Most upgrades have no delay until mid‑tier ranks, after which training time is measured in hours rather than days.
