Introduction
Dragon's Gate Reborn is a rich, rewarding world—but it doesn’t hand out easy wins. Growth takes time, practice, and a little patience. If your first steps feel rough, you’re not alone.
These tips are meant to speed up the learning curve and help you build good survival habits early.
When you first arrive, you can choose the Training Grounds. Thieves are routed to a separate training area to practice without impacting other players. Use the training option—it’s the best place to learn the ropes.
Tip 1: Read the Manual
- Explore the Archives and read the Dragon Fire Chronicles. They include player tips, world lore, and news about events.
- Learn your character’s strengths and weak points. Racial relationships matter, and role‑play goes smoother when you know the cultural lines.
- Focus on the commands that fit your build. If you can’t use a system, skip the deep dive until you need it.
- Command fluency takes practice. Expect a few stumbles, and keep going—confidence comes quickly.
- Get a feel for your surroundings. Try LOOK modes (full, brief, superbrief) and build a mental map as you explore.
Tip 2: NPCs
- Some NPCs are conversational and helpful. A clue or shortcut might be hidden in a casual chat or a street rumor.
- Others are hostile or unpredictable. Always be ready to defend yourself, and don’t assume an offer is safe.
Tip 3: Monsters
- Monsters often have tricks. If a fight turns sideways, retreat, regroup, and learn the pattern.
- Always LOOK before attacking. Learn what you’re up against and adjust your tactics as you gain experience.
- Tip: The weekly Gladiator Games are a great place to practice combat skills.
Tip 4: Hunting
- Carry limits are real. When you’re full, sell or bank your loot—gold adds up in weight fast.
- Hunt with a group when you can. Parties are safer, more profitable, and more social.
- Bring a healer if possible. It’s the best insurance you can buy. Split loot fairly—SPLIT ALL helps.
Tip 5: Healing and Health
- There are three health measures in DGR:
- Hit Points: Overall health.
- Fatigue Points: Energy and stamina.
- Wounds: Location and severity of injuries, including blood loss.
- Humanoid body locations: head, torso, right/left arms, right/left legs.
- Healing support saves lives. Bring a healer when you can.
