Summary: Biting is a natural melee attack lane (size-3 damage track) used through bite at <target>.

Notes:
Bite requires an uncovered head/mouth; if a helmet is equipped, bite is unavailable.

Damage scales by bite tier plus floor(STR/2) and racial damage modifier.

Baseline cost/timing are 3 FTG and 5s, improving to 4s at level 15 and 3s at level 30.

Player Overview

Description: The ability to do measurable damage in combat with teeth or mandibles.

Who Can Learn It: Arachnians, Monitanians, 3rd stage-and-higher dragons, Wyverns

What It is Supposed to Do: Strike a target with mandibles or a mouth full of sharp teeth.

What it Does: If successful, the target will be struck with the user's bite attack. Higher levels will do significantly more damage, and may cause deep bleeding wounds.

Activation: bite <target>

Usefulness (Low Levels): Lots of misses, and lots of fatigue drain. Practice on weak targets.

Usefulness (Mid-Levels): You are starting to hit more consistently, and now and then you cause a deep bleeding wound. Fatigue drain has improved.

Usefulness (High Levels): Your teeth (or mandibles) mean business. Your bite attacks regularly cause deep, bleeding wounds. Fatigue drain is minimized.

How to Practice: Bite something. Keep biting until it stops moving. Repeat.

Tips: This skill pairs well with shield and parry skills, as you can wield a shield or other offhand item and it won't keep you from biting. If you have access to a vigor spell, you'll get a lot of practice with your magic skills (especially in the lower levels). If you don't have magic, keep lots of vigor potions on hand to keep your stamina up.
