Skill Overview

Entry Last Update: February 01, 2026

Description: Your effectiveness with edged weapons in combat.

Who Can Learn It: Nearly anyone can learn to use edged weapons. Wyvern do not, because they do not have hands, and dragons lose the ability to use melee weapons upon reaching their 3rd stage (I think).

What It is Supposed to Do: Strike a target with an edged weapon you have equipped. Edged weapons are daggers, swords, axes, and any applicable two-handed variants.

What it Does: If successful, you'll land an attack with your edged weapon. Critical hits cause deep bleeding gashes.

Activation: attack|kill <target>

Usefulness (Low Levels): You miss many of your attacks at first, and your fatigue drains quickly when using larger edged weapons.

Usefulness (Mid-Levels): You are regularly landing hits now, and your fatigue drain has improved. You occasionally land a critical hit that leaves a bleeding gash behind.

Usefulness (High Levels): You consistently land your attacks, fatigue drain is minimized. You land more critical strikes on your targets that leave behind bleeding wounds.

How to Practice: Experience is gained per landed hit. Hit something with your edged weapon, and keep hitting it.

Tips: Smaller weapons use less stamina than larger weapons, so while practicing, use a dagger instead of a two-handed great sword or battle axe. This skill pairs well with shield, parry, and dodging skills. You won't have to use vigor spells or potions as frequently while practicing with a dagger, but if you have spells, you'll have to remove your weapon before casting.
